The Investigating Contemporary Art card set is designed to help middle school students and their teachers explore contemporary artworks and investigate their meanings. By engaging in open-ended discussions about artworks, young people develop new understandings and important insights about the world, each other, and relationships. Intended for use with Experience Art, this card set will help you and your students respond to contemporary artworks in the program.

Components in the set include:

• Art Image Cards with large photos of fine art and discussion prompts to encourage
engagement and promote student responses
• Word and Statement Cards to help students describe and interpret the artworks during deep observation and group discussion
• Teacher’s Guide with instructions to help educators facilitate engaging and productive discussions of contemporary artworks
